Description

Nikkole's debut cd entitled Appearances features a voice that is convincing and mature far beyond its years and poetry pared to the bone. Her words and their delivery have a confessional quality and the music is lovely, dramatic and very affected by its subject matter. This cd blends infectious grooves with memorable pop choruses. On songs like "Over It" and "Appearances" there is a glow of dark enraged twists; others like "Hangin' By A Tattered Thread"," Funky Alright" and "Beautiful Colors" drive with smiling, more Pop qualities. An appealing, picture perfect mix of Alternative and Pop sounds are found on Appearances. Nikkole has been compared to artists like Sheryl Crow, Pink and Lenny Kravitz.

Nikkole has proven to be the number one independent singer in the US via mp3.com, which was one of the major music internet websites. In addition, she is the winner of The Best Pop Album award from Virgin Free Radio and JPF with her debut cd "Appearances". Nikkole was chosen out of 7800 independent publicly released albums. Her winning streak continued to take on another award with Virgin Free Radio and JPF with one of the top 20 Best Pop Singles out of 25,000 independent successful songs in 2003. Now she moves on to complete a new album to excite the Music World.

After singing with some of the world's top performers such as Whoopie Goldberg, The Emotions, The Commodores, Gregory Hines, Cedric The Entertainer, Patrice Rushen, Babyface and Sheree Brown, she has developed her persona and enhanced her singing talent. Or it should be said that her keen sense of expressing her emotions through her voice has without a doubt sharpened.

As a proven singer of a new breed, Nikkole has written and co-produced all of her songs. Furthermore, for The Emotions' new album, she has recently created several new cuts for the legendary two-time Grammy Award winning trio. Other notable producers on The Emotions' upcoming project are Babyface and Wayne Vaughn. It is foreseeable that The Emotions will come back on the grandest stage of the world with their new album. Nikkole's ability to create music has also been valued by many other legendary artists such The Commodores who are high-lighting their up coming release with one of Nikkole's creations. Nikkole's talent also extends to the globe of soundtracks. Her hit song, Baby Baby, was one of the songs featured on "Love and Action in Chicago", which has been shown on Cinemax, and HBO; the film stars Courtney B. Vance, Regina King, Kathleen Turner and Jason Alexander. Her voicings have also enhanced other soundtracks such as "The Brothers" a Screen Gems / Sony Pictures Production, and "Biker Boyz" a Dreamworks Production. Nikkole was asked to develop songs for the Independent movie "Blue Moon". This includes the title track, along with collaborating and singing on numerous songs in the film. In addition, "Funky Alright" a cut from her "Appearances" cd has recently been chosen to be in the film "Feedback", directed by Wendy Becker. Nikkole can also be heard on LA's number one Urban Platinum station 100.3 The Beat on the Spincycle with Spinderella from Salt & Pepa fame.

With the trend of music in fashion Nikkole has enjoyed modeling with Otto Management, and additionally has endorsements and or sponsorships with Sergio Valente, Seychelles Footwear and Tony & Tina Make-up. Nikkole can be seen in the December 2004 Edition of Ironman Japan modeling with World Renowned Bodybuilding Champion Ken Yasuda.
