INTRO
Tomfoolio is a collage artist, heavily influenced by turntablists and instrumental hip hop producers such as DJ Shadow and Amon Tobin. He creates music by A) digging through other peoples' music, B) clipping out samples, and C) weaving them together into evocative instrumental songs.
Tomfoolio's style is jazz-inflected, darkly cinematic, and frequently quite beautiful. His debut album, Adventures Among the Pod People, has garnered Tomfoolio a small but devoted following throughout the United States and Europe.
BIO
Tomfoolio was raised in the suburbs of Nashville, Tennessee. He first began fiddling with freeware tracking programs in junior high, composing score for nonexistent films. After branching out into various styles of electronica, he finally decided in the spring of 2003 to try his hand at downtempo and trip hop. He came to enjoy it a great deal, and has focused his efforts there ever since.
