Description
Lance Reegan-Diehl (LRD) began playing just over twenty eight years ago. The basis for his knowledge of music, comes from the time he was enrolled in the Capilano College Jazz/Commercial music program in Vancouver B.C. With studies based in composition, theory, improvisation and harmony.
His music has taken him to many different places in the world and givin him unforgettable memories to dive into for inspiration when writers block knocks at the creative door. His interest in all aspects of music creation have given him knowledge as an engineer / music producer in the field of Digital music Recording and most recently his study of Digital Video/Film production.
He has applied this knowledge to his own LRD studio, where he is currently writing, engineering, and producing other artist's and working on his new production's. Lance continues to study and explore every type of music he can get his hands on.
Now at 36 , Lance's approach is characterized by a broad dynamic range and a unique sensitivity to everything from lyrics to instrumentation. He plays for the song , locking in the grooves , tight riffs , soaring melodies , and evincing an intuitive grasp of when to play and when to be sparse.
Lance incorporates original blendings of styles and ideas to create an individual sound which can be heard on his five albums,and one DVD, sessions, and TV/movie spots.
When not in the studio, Lance has toured in numerous bands ranging from Rock to pop to jazz worldwide.
He is also a music teacher and lecturer and he has taught and/ or lectured at various middle schools, high schools and Universities. As a teacher he works on the understanding of the written note, how it is perceived by the listener, know your fret board, playing for the group and for the song. His lecture topics include dealing with the business, getting along with people in very close quarters, understanding the language of the musician.
Lance has toured in many countries as sideman as well as front man. He is now located in Asia where he spends his time playing concerts, doing guitar clinics, teaching, studio sessions, and working on a much anticipated sixth album.
