Description
ROBERT KEENAN was the lead singer for a Long Island based band called DEAD STREET CORNER. They played early american and english rock and roll as well as rhythm and blues during the 70`s. The original members were Robert on guitar and vocals, JOE LAMANNA on lead guitar ERIC BERGSTROM on bass and JIM RADICE on drums. The band recorded 2 singles ,one on the Pelligrino label and one with Belljar music ,Bob and Joe released 3 albums under the DEAD STREET CORNER name and they are both still active recording today. Eric passed away in 1986. While most Long Island bands were playing top 40 at the time, DEAD STREET CORNER was having success drawing large crowds with more original songs than cover tunes. Most were written by Bob and some were Keenan,LaManna originals. They played energetic versions of old rockers like "I got a woman",Im gonna sit right down and cry","Long tall sally" and "Twist and shout" as well as crowd pleasing originals with the same early rock sound such as "School Girl",(Keenan)"Keep moving along(Keenan,Bergstrom)," Since I was A Boy",(Keenan)"You Better Run(Keenan,LaManna),and "I`ll Be True to You (Keenan),making them one heck of a live band.
