Bio:
Beginning as a philosophy of drunken camaraderie amongst a group of musical friends, Team Tomato is now the hottest group on the St. Louis Music Scene. Although only having played as Team Tomato for a little over a year, the members have been performing together for more than a decade. This most recent and lucrative endeavor has been the truest vein of melodic, high-energy rock and roll, with the precise amount of unapologetic assault in every performance. Within Saint Louis' music scene they possess an ever-impressive loyal fan-base determined to witness every spectacle along the way.
Team Tomato's first album, Teamwork Helps Us All; performed by Brian Wiegert and recorded and produced by Jordan Ross, was released in early 2004. The rousing response to the CD and musical drive of Wiegert pushed him to assemble a live Team Tomato. Since forming this cultivated quartet, Team Tomato has come out with their second self-recorded/ produced/mastered full-length album, Words and Skin and Bone. Their latest release varies from Teamwork Helps Us All - a mellower melodic counterpart to their live performances - in its fuller ensemble of blended guitar tracks, driving bass riffs, and drum attack.
Team Tomato has taken the scene by storm in only a short time. Within the past year they have played over 100 shows, received numerous accolades for their latest album; including being voted one of the five best local releases for 2004 [Playback STL], as well as joining 2 other finalists in the VH1's Song of the Year Competition for their title track "Words and Skin and Bone", and continue to entertain and impress crowds with their savvy musicianship and original approach to songwriting. Most recently, the band was honored with the highest honor at the "Do-It-Yourself" Convention in Los Angeles with the title of "2005 DIY Album of the Year". Wihtout a doubt, Team Tomato has risen well above the vegetated state of your average local rock band.
