Description
Fed up with music that sounds like it was produced in a vacuum factory, Pat Cioffi, Scott Wilson and Patrick Carbone spent 6 hours synching their rock, jazz, punk and progressive roots into 10 of Pat's best songs. The result is a sprawling old fashioned rock and roll effort called "Afterthought".
The album has been described as inspiring, well crafted, and for some, badly sung. We can only challenge the listener to decide for themselves. What it isn't is generic, shallow or sweet. If your interest is Clay Aiken or Josh Groban, you must look elsewhere.
Lou Reed, Richard Hell, Television, Talking Heads, the Replacements, Bob Mould, Neil Young, Patti Smith, Paul Westerburg, Paul Weller, the Clash, Peter Gabriel, Mark Knopfler, Stevie Ray Vaughn and many other artists of amazing talent do not appear anywhere near this album. However, songwriter Pat Cioffi did listen to many of their albums over the years.
Recorded in NYC, Pat is joined by bass player Patrick Carbone and drummer Scott Wilson; two tasteful musicians who know how to mold and shape every song. Orion Duckstein of Paul Taylor Dance Company lays down some wicked guitar solos on Human Nature and Driving, and a five piece vocal group back up several of the cuts. In a time where digital perfection has replaced raw emotion, the PCP brings real feeling into the mix. This is a real record, and is made especially for those who appreciate entire albums, not trendy pop records. Check it out.
