Description
Dear music lover,
Here are a few sentences to sum up the way it is.
Seattle singer/songwriter Michael Sanchez started The Way It Is as an audio protest to everything he hated about the music industry, it's preconcieved notions, it's labels, it's "sell out" status and the Grammys (tm). This solo/side project of his band The New Death Show enables him to do whatever he wants however he wants to do it.
Michael started writing and recording music in 1992. He's been in several bands including Watership Down with his brother David (The Game Over, Life in Stereo) and The New Death Show with Davidson Burnam (Land! Bravo, AM Radio). He and Davidson reformed The New Death Show in 2002 after relocating to Seattle from New York City. They continue to record and tour with Seattle as their home.
Musical influences:
nada surf, new order, elliott smith, the who, jeremy enigk, the smiths, mates of state, american football, joni mitchell, clem snide, the doors, and on and on and on (please email me for further additions and changes).
NOTE:
The Way It Is always sell CDs cheaply for 2 reasons.
1. we want you to have one no matter how much you make at your crappy ass job.
2. don't be fooled by the music industry, CDs are cheaper to make than cassette tapes were and we think it's utterly ridiculous one should have to pay $10 - $18 for an environmentally wasteful piece of plastic that technically costs about a dime.
enjoy.
