Description
This is a stunning new CD, a tremendous accomplishment that makes you wonder how something this good isn't a lot bigger. Perhaps just a matter of time. It's the kind of musically and lyrically ambitious Pop that we hear way too little of anymore. Tollak is also one of those rare Pop musicians who is extremely accomplished not only as a writer but as a musician too. A phenomenal voice and a gifted keyboard player whose rich complex melodies and lyrics spin a powerful spell but still strike a common nerve.
And to top it off, he's also a world class harmonica player (think Stevie Wonder) who's been featured by a who's who list of leading artists- Earth Wind and Fire, Don Henley, Michael McDonald, Natalie Cole, Jewel, Kenny Loggins, Al Jarreau to name just a few. His sublime harmonica playing is a beautiful presence that adds yet another dimension to several of the tracks on the CD.
We've never heard anyone quite like him, he seamlessly combines a fascinating array of influences from the Beatles to Stevie Wonder, Sting to Steely Dan with an honesty and intensity that marks the arrival of a truly great artist.
Highly recommended.
