Description
[Newtown, PA] - Tony Parker is an independent, folk-style singer/songwriter/producer, and co-inventor of the world's first Titanium Acoustic Guitar Strings (U.S. Patent 6,348,646).
In addition to his own CD entitled "A Song for Every Season," he has produced several other projects including "Another Family Christmas" and "Christmas Toledo" (both used in fund-raising campaigns for Toledo's Homeless Awareness Project in 1996-1998); and "The Bill Jenkins Trio: Jazz 1969" (a fund-raiser and public awareness project for MADD in both Philadelphia and northeast Ohio, released in September 2000). He is a recipient of an ASCAP Special Popular Award, and he continues to make solo appearances with his harmonica and titanium six-string.
Toledo Blade reviewer Richard Paton calls "A Song for Every Season" an "understated collection... the disc benefits from some stylistic diversity, from the folk influence heard on 'Goodbye' to the attractive ballad 'Our Love Will Find A Way,' and moody instrumental 'Prelude.'" Today's Collegian calls it "...a refreshing collection of different styles of music." Toledo City Paper reviewer Steve Athanas notes that "Parker achieves the most in the simple melodic 'Goodbye'... Beatles-ish 'Our Love Will Find a Way,' 'Pacific Ocean,' and the title track."
Tony Parker has recently completed three new solo projects: a compilation of original acoustic folk songs entitled "My Titanium Six," (recorded with the world's first titanium six-string acoustic guitar), a compilation of original instrumental piano selections entitled "Seven over Four," and a solo singer/songwriter project entitled "Tony Parker."
