Description
Tracy Mack began writing when she was very young, but it wasn't until 10 years ago, while teaching herself guitar, that she discovered her love of songwriting.
Some of her earlier influences include Fleetwood Mac, The Charlie Daniels Band, Janis Joplin, Bonnie Raitt, and Melissa Etheridge.
After five years of writing songs, she began performing at prestigious open mics around Michigan, including The Ark in Ann Arbor.
A riveting performance at The Tap Room in Ypsilanti, Michigan landed her a regular headline gig.
While vacationing in LA in 1998, an open mic performance resulted in an invitation to headline at The Crooked Bar on Sunset Blvd.
In 1998 Tracy assembled The Tracy Mack Band to flush-out the sweet smooth sound that had made her a local favorite.
Backed by some of the best musicians in Ann Arbor, Tracy fused blues, rock and folk into a mix that travels the same roads as Chrisse Hynde, and Melissa Etheridge.
Since then Tracy has played clubs and festivals throughout Michigan such as the Dearborne Music Fest, Out Fest, and Arts, Beats and Eats. She has also performed on radio shows such as the Mitch Albom show.
The raw energy of the music, Tracy's guitar playing and her soulful, edgy voice have put Tracy Mack on the map.
And it brings Tracy smack-dab in the middle of the spotlight, which is right where she belongs.
In the late summer of 2000 Tracy released her long awaited CD, Losing My Mind.
With great success she has since went back to her roots, just her and her guitar, using all of her musical influences to keep producing that unique sound, all of her own, doing what she loves best.
