Description
June 2004 marks the release of Ben Trexel's third instrumental CD, DEEP IN THE MIX. Three years in the making, this eleven song tour de force further cements Trexel's place among modern rock guitarists. As on his previous two CDs, Wearing A Groove (1997), and Under the Radar (2000), Trexel delves into powerful, dramatic guitar rock interspersed with his own unique style of contemplative acoustic guitar. Trexel states, "This album is for people who love guitar. My goal is to broaden the appeal of instrumental rock music to those that might not normally choose to listen to it. This album truly takes the listener on a musical journey. Next time you are dreading a long drive, put this album in and you will reach your destination before you know it."
Since the release of Under The Radar in 2000, Trexel has done over 400 shows, promoting his own music, as well as playing bass on tour for the Ken Johnson Band and most recently with Meet The Next. During this time, Trexel also produced the debut albums from the Stewart-Mayfield Project (now Moses Mayfield), Easyflow Notion, Ken Johnson, Lyrisis, Meet The Next and D. Watts.
Trexel now works as an independent producer based in Birmingham, Alabama working out of Workplay Studios (www.workplay.com) For artists interested in working with Trexel, please contact Workplay through the website.
