Description
TR Ritchie writes and performs neo-traditional acoustic music grounded in swing, ragtime, blues and country traditions. These influences, coupled with his award-winning lyric style, makes for a repetoire rich in variety and contrast: lively, soulful, worldly, whimsical, poetic, insightful.
His tools are both simple and classic fare: an acoustic guitar, a keen eye, an expressive voice, an ear for language and an inclination toward narrative in both his writing and in the unscripted musings which typify his live performances. From his musical initiations as a street singer in Seattle, through his emergence as one of the country's finest songwriter/performers and on into his current itinerary of clubs, festivals and concert halls, Ritchie goes his own way, heedless of passing fad or convention.
