Description
An explosive combination of powerful songwriting, insanely energetic live shows and tireless work ethic; TUBBY is like nothing else on the music scene today. The energy this group releases on stage has been the talk of music fans across the San Diego area since the band's inception. More than one club owner has pegged Tubby as the best band to come out of San Diego in years, and their growing fan base has echoed that sentiment throughout southern California.
With a style that fuses high-energy New Orleans funk with rock and soul, Tubby crafts songs that hook audiences from the first listen. Although the median age of the band is only 23, all are veterans of the music industry. Frontman Dane Scott has taken his powerful funk- and soul-styled vocals and commanding stage presence to venues all over the mid-west with Scruff Dog and the River Cats. Keyboardist Neil MacPherson has toured throughout the western United States and Europe, most recently opening for Blue Oyster Cult with the band Opposition Party.
Matt Hanafin has lent his wild stage antics and airtight bass groove to punk artists The Excrements, and drummer Brendan Concannon has toured the US with signed ska band Ruder Than You. Together, this group of music professionals has already tasted arena crowds, been televised twice in 15 states, and been booked in most of San Diego's best clubs.
