Description
John Heartson
Jeff Sneed, one of my friends in Texas, jokingly described me as the love child of Captain James T. Kirk and Bobby Vinton on a mission to save the earth. Jeff's way of saying I'm high tech, have a smooth voice and am trying to do some good in the world. I use technology in music that heals, entertains and enlightens.
What's It Sound Like?
People have been very kind in comparing the songs on this CD to greats like Pink Floyd, Alan Parsons, the Beatles, John Lennon, the Talking Heads, 10 cc and Mike Pinder. Alan Parsons "Turn of A Friendly Card" IS one of my favorite albums. But I still don't know how to classify this CD. It's certainly contains a lot of entertainment on many levels.
Airplay ? Yes!
I'm getting airplay on KUYI Hopi radio and they love it but they don't know what bin to put it in either. How's this "Eclectic electric folk rock, cosmic groove, tech & ballads with spiritual, emotional, and political over and undertones"? I may have to ask Derek Sivers at CD Baby for help because I give up on trying to classify it. I don't know other than to say, yea, that's me. My music is also featured on ShadyRadio.com (which led to me becoming a regular guest on the talk radio side.
But back to the music
Donna Packard, reviewer for Boston Live wrote this wonderful review
BEYOND THE STARS "when you know who you are, you can see beyond the stars..." "
A musical work of art and genius...Listen to this CD once...it will begin to capture your attention...twice and you'll want to listen again and the third time you are hooked! You'll find yourself singing "Right now it's getting better" in the shower and humming lines from "A Message from John" in the car. John Heartson brings to view the corruption and fear we are facing--and calls us to the scene' to "meet us on the hilltop and stop this machine..." while awakening us with heartfelt messages of hope and love .... "At end of your life, there's nothing that you take and when you leave it will be too late to give the love that you could be giving here. Don't waste another day living life in fear.." a soulful blend of rock, easy listening, pop, techno and new age that touches teens and baby boomers alike."
Well that about says it all. Thanks Donna
