Memory & Loss
herMajesty
herMajesty eschews Lower East Side sleaze for the grandeur and romantic yearning of overseas bands like Coldplay, Roxy Music, Doves, and the lyricism of Leonard Cohen.

Description
Pop music at its best is a combination of pure emotion, timeless storytelling and songcraft. Qualities such as these set apart bands like Coldplay, Radiohead and U2, and singer songwriters David Bowie, Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen.
herMajesty follows in that tradition, seamlessly translating musical influences and life experiences into indelible melodies and lyrics that haunt and stir the soul. The band's lush, moody and catchy sound combines thoughtful, emotionally charged lyrics with hooky, melodic writing and tight, creative arrangements.
The CD reflects all this and much more. Memory & Loss ranges from the romantic yearning of "Open Up Your Arms" to the exoticism of "All This Beauty," which combines Middle Eastern samples with slide guitar. It includes "Rebel Song" which is an ode to Joe Strummer, one of JP's musical inspirations. The sound of longing and loss is fully realized in the CD's closing track "Season In Hell", an elegiac meditation on love and the passage of time.
The reviews have been overwhelmingly favorable. www.thefreezer.com recently said that the band's music is "vibrant, strong, solid and driving, the songs are captivating, there is an element of confidence and seriousness to this sound." Garageband.com hailed "All This Beauty" as "a model song" and called it "creative distinctive work."
The principal members of herMajesty are JP on vocals, rhythm guitar and samples, and Vanessa on keyboards. The band is rounded out by Jerome Covington on lead guitar, Nic James on bass, and Chip Thomas on drums.
For the future, herMajesty plans to continue building on their following in their hometown of NYC, play summer festivals, promote their debut CD, write some more great songs, and conquer the world with their brand of rock-n-roll. We hope that you enjoy Memory & Loss. We believe that the recording of these songs captures the graceful spirit in which they were created.
