Description
Here is what Cincinnati's City Beat published about Idle Mirth on September 23, 2004:
"Every once in a while a uniquely mischievous sound will slither out of the radio and insulate the dark recesses of the public's conscious (examples being NIN's "Closer" and Fiona Apple's "Criminal"). Idle Mirth specializes in these slices of sultry, neo-psychedelic darkness. A swirling cocoon of ethereal yet impacting melody, loaded with percolating electro-ticks and wiry, creative guitar."
An overall favorable review I thought, except I don't understand the comparison to Fiona Apple -- except maybe in that Charlene's voice has body, depth and character which is notably lacking in most women's voices on the radio today.
