Description
ITHAKA's storytelling lyrics often reflect his personal global travels and were taken to a new level when the artist disappeared into East Africa to write new material for his third coming album, SOMEWHERE SOUTH OF SOMALIA.
Two months later, he reemerged in Lisbon with a travel journal full of adventurous rap-tales exploring; tribal folklore, urban dangers, elitist foreigners, epidemics, lives of war journalists, near death experiences and voodoo.
ITHAKA then flew back to Los Angeles to work with producer/engineer Conley 'Conman' Abrams.
Abrams has worked for TuPac, Queen Latifa, Heavy D, Montell Jordan and Snoop Dogg, and produced the hit 'No Woman' on Polybeat/Virgin artist General Grant charting at #6 on Billboard's Rap Chart.
Together they are musically recreating Ithaka's experiences in a cinematic Afro hip-hop vibe.
SOMEWHERE SOUTH OF SOMALIA stretches hip-hop in fresh directions both musically and lyrically and ITHAKA's laid-back narrative rap-style lays smoothly in the cut.
