Description
I have been writing songs, playing guitar and dulcimer for nearly thirty five years. When I recorded these songs in 1998, I realized that I had been gradually turning away from my self absorbed coffeehouse style and move towards my expanded heart rhythm by way of the drum. Now I'm writing about the expanded self in a larger love arena. I still play guitar on this CD, though the songs are about everybody now.
My drum and sound healing circles have been a seed for many of these songs. The circle, going for fifteen years now, creates a safe place to write outward from myself. My original chants with drum and voice have been transformed here with abounding magical harmonious chords, by genius, Kent Allyn, playing bass, guitar and piano. This CD appears to have a healing quality for many. I was pleased to receive many messages from folks after 911, how they played this CD over and over because it gave them comfort, hope and peace. Many of my original songs have been performed and recorded by various women's accappela singing groups in New England. This is my favorite collection of originals to date.
