Description
Drummer Steve Carter learned to play in a shed, out in the hot Texas sun. He had no drums and had to use part of a lawnmower for a hi-hat stand. After high school he started touring with some band that broke up. Then he started moving around a lot, due to various other bands and a few girls who just didn't understand, and finally ended up in New Jersey where he met Joe.
Joe learned guitar on a $20.00 instrument from Bradlees. (Bradlees was a popular discount chain in New Jersey that was never known for the quality of their musical instruments.) Then Bradlees went out of business, and Joe had to buy his next instrument at a music store. Joe used to like people but then he became acquainted with many of them and changed his mind about the whole situation.
Billy Sned played cello for a high school string quartet and then switched to bass. The other guys in the quartet objected to this and kicked him out of the group. He went to a culinary school for a while and majored in mu shoo pork.
KTPB has fun when they play. Most of the time they play in places where the floor hasn't been washed in thirty years. Actually, that place finally closed down. Then it fell down.
The real story: Steve likes a wide variety of music, even all that stuff Joe can't comprehend (like Miles Davis). He likes metal, though, which was a good background for KTPB.
Joe's musical taste is pretty narrow. Lots of classic punk bands (Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Clash, Minor Threat) and some new stuff (NOFX, Flogging Molly, Kings of Leon, Nirvana). Also, old stuff like Hendrix, Dylan, Led Zep.
Billy likes death metal, the Grateful Dead, and the Beatles.
