Description
Pete Kronowitt started playing guitar in the stairwells and quads of American University in Washington, D.C. There he developed a taste for all kinds of music and learned to express what he felt through songwriting. "Often songs are inspired from powerful events in life," says Pete, "but through these events, something positive is created."
Living by this belief, Pete has decided to make something positive happen with his current CD, "Threads." He will donate money from the sale of it to the Diabetes Research Institute and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. "My official goal is to raise $25,000," says Pete.
This may seem lofty for a little-know musician, until you find out something of Pete's history. His parents founded the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in 1971 after his sister developed diabetes at age 2 1/2. Since then, Pete has raised money for a multitude of charities. 10% of the sales from the CD will benefit diabetes research.
Pete's 2nd album, "Threads," is comprised of 14 songs with thoughtful lyrics and rock-solid band accompaniment spanning the emotive fused with pop to indie folk mingled with a squall. The end result spans relationships we all experience and the issues in between.
