Description
Surf Noir (n): A dark and twisted instrumental blend of Surf, Goth, old school New Orleans jazz and southern swamp Blues, with even a hint of country and a healthy dose of camp.
Vegas Beach are the self proclaimed pioneers of the Surf Noir movement. Three former members of the some of the more notable acts in the Canadian music scene (New World Disorder, Vampire Beach Babes and Gasoline Ritual),
Wavy Davy, Jim Garfield and Ricky Las Vegas got together to explore the instrumental side of their legacy. The result is Vegas Beach: the perfect movie soundtrack project.
The first album Vegas Beach album, entitled Dark Side of the Beach, was recorded live in only a few hours. It features several lush instrumentals that weave lazily and effortlessly through many different genres of music, both dark and light.
After releasing Dark Side Of The Beach to excellent reviews (including Pipeline Magazine, Rue Morgue, Surf's Up, and The New Gandy Dancer), label interest and international airplay (including KFJC-FM in California, KDNK-FM in Colorado, XM Satellite Radio, the Devlar Surf Sessions,Guitars and All That Jazz, and more) the boys from Vegas Beach are back with their second CD: Share The Sand. Produced by veteran television producer Pacy Shulman at his new Toronto studio, Share The Sand promises to push Vegas Beach into an even larger international spotlight.
Now join Dave, Jim and Ricky as they continue to explore this intriguing soundscape they call: Surf Noir.
