Description
Dream pop / shoegaze / ambient / ethereal / mood music.
Call it what you will, this is what I do. I create my music down in the murky depths of the Do-It-Yourself underground. No financial support, no media attention, very little respect by those able to produce "real" albums.
Never mind that. I pour my soul into my songs, and I believe in this music. My albums may not be the slick, glossy professional packages you're used to, but they are quality albums nonetheless. Every copy of every album receives my full care and attention. Listen. Then listen again.
ATMOSPHERIUM was recorded in 1998-1999 and remixed in 2002. Produced entirely at home, and burned onto top-of-the-line Taiyo Yuden CD-R discs.
Guitars, percussion, audio illusions.
This is mostly scenery music; it drifts by slowly, lingering long enough for you to take a good look at it. The pace is leisurely and the mood usually peaceful and uplifting. There are exceptions, but even the noisey bits have a sense of quietness and tranquility to them.
A touch of melancholy here and there, a wistful feeling, but no doom and gloom. I won't add to the burden of darkness in the world. Mine is the music of light. All my songs have happy endings.
Gratia et pax Christi exultet in corde tuo.
"Raymond Scott Woolson has delivered a beautiful guitar-based CD. The music revolves around a central chord progression motif which Woolson develops employing a lush combination of delay and volume washes. It's a peaceful ambience that evolves and flows over the course of the CD and makes for wonderful, quiet mood music that, for me anyway, feels quite uplifting. Highly recommended."
