Description
Gospel recording artist, Ramond Yzer, is a living testimony of what God can do for those who believe. Throughout his musical career, he claimed God's promise that he can do all things through Christ which strengthens him (Phil. 4:13). Born in Suriname, South America, to the late Arthur and Ine Yzer, Ramond developed an appreciation for the saxophone at a very early age. He was influenced by the late Jopie Friese, an accomplished saxophonist, who was often called upon to play at birthdays and special family gatherings. He longed for the day when he would own his own saxophone and play just as well as Jopie. He carried this desire into his adult life. It came as no surprise that he motivated his son, Rendelle, to play the saxophone and his daughter, Natalie, to play the flute. How he enjoyed the many years of their music -- until they left home for college. It was at this juncture in his life when he stepped out by faith and asked God to bless him with the gift of music. He bought a saxophone and, for the most part, taught himself. Claiming Phil. 4:13, and with much faith, determination, and encouragement by his family, especially his wife, Lorraine, Ramond accomplished his goal. He taught himself to play the different lines of saxophones-alto, soprano, and tenor.
Ramond takes God's commission seriously and has been ministering to the world in music for many years. On several occasions, he has been invited by area churches to provide special music. Having a burden for community service, he has used his musical gift to play at nursing homes, prisons, soup kitchens, and fellowship dinners.
How great is the grace of God which He gave to us in such large measure!
The release of his first CD, My Tribute - Give Thanks, was a milestone, accomplished only by perseverance and strong faith in God's promise to bless him abundantly more than what he can ever ask or hope for (Eph. 3:20). Most requested tracks are "When We All Get to Heaven," "Because He Lives," "My Tribute," and the medley, "Soon and Very Soon/Down by the Riverside." Listeners found this CD to be "very uplifting and inspiring."
His second CD, Jesus, the Light of the World, was released in time for Christmas 2004. This 15-track arrangement offers the listener a variety of familiar Christmas favorites. Most requested tracks are "Joy to the World," "Away in a Manger," and "Jesus, the Light of the World."
It is Ramond's hope that the Lord uses his music to bless others with an inner joy and peace as they listen to the soothing sounds of traditional/light contemporary hymns. He asks for your prayers as he continues to praise God and minister, through music, to a dying world.
All praise and honor go to our heavenly Father for sending His only begotten Son to dwell among us as the Light of the world. He has lightened our darkness and brought new hope and joy to mankind!
