Description
The Elect is a six piece jam/rock band based out of Indianapolis, Indiana. Their sound breaks the mold of a lot of today's jam/rock bands and instead combines the best of many genres. The Elect melds the story telling of folk, heart of blues, and the energy of rock and then combines them into a feel good and moving jam. It's a mix that moves both the average music fan and the seasoned music aficionado.
Newspapers, radio, and television have all recognized the unique sound, feel and musicianship of The Elect. The band has won over fans by playing multiple times on Fox network's "FOX59 AM Show". Air play on Indiana radio stations such as WTTS, WFBQ, WIBC and WKLU have brought the band regional attention. Positive album and show reviews in the Indianapolis Star and News and Nuvo Newsweekly have helped to build on the band's growing fan base as well.
The Elect are now in the process of touring in support of their new eponymous CD release. Several album release parties are in the process of being scheduled and retail distribution is currently being developed with online retailers Amazon.com, CDBaby, Target.com and others. Radio promotions and festival/showcase shows are being planned as well.
Steve Hammer of Nuvo Newsweekly (Indianapolis' largest independent newspaper) describes The Elect sound as "Innately sincere, hardworking Midwestern rock music that tickles the brain as well as it engages the dancin' feet." The new CD simply titled "The Elect" serves as testament to that jamming, folky and rockin' tradition...
