Description
Ernest Carter was born and raised in Asbury Park, New Jersey. Carter is best known as the drummer in Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band for seven months in 1974, the period when the landmark "Born to Run" single was recorded. But he has had a long career in music, joining fellow E Street alumnus David Sancious in the jazz fusion band Tone, playing in the Jersey based blues band, The Fairlanes and backing Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, Todd Rungren, John Lee Hooker, Bonnie Raitt, Clanrence Clemons and the Red Bank Rockers, The Howard Tate Band and many, many others.
Temple of Boom is clearly a labor of love. Carter draws on all his past experiences. EC wrote every note and word himself and played all the instruments.
Styles range from acoustic lo-fi blues (I like It) to ethereal jazz-rock (G-Angel). Carters gets funky on tracks like "Victim of the Living Dead" and the George Clinton homage "Show Me Your Funky Side" and plays hot guitar solos on "This is Not My dream" and the title track.
