Description
My name is Lisa Clor, I'm the Marketing Director for a Record Label in beautiful Santa Barbara, California [aka "The American Riviera"]. Our Record Label is www.AtomicLawn.com in Santa Barbara, California.
I have known this artist for over three [3] years and I am so proud to see his many years of music-making come to fruition in the release of his first CD "Yesterday."
I remember when I first met "Marq-E" and first heard his music; from a CD he let me borrow back in 2001. I immediately fell in love with the song "Yesterday" and I found myself listening to it over and over again, day after day, month after month, pondering what it was that struck such a chord with me. I knew I liked the sound, but then I realized the impact of the lyrics and how it relates to so many of our life experiences, especially those of us who have been around emotionally difficult experiences. For the last three [3] years I have been waiting for the moment when he would release his music to the public, and finally that moment has arrived.
Another highlight began last year when two of "Marq-E's songs "Syllable Lullabize" and "Yesterday" began to be heard and seen locally on VH-1, MTV, Comedy Central, Fox, etc., etc., at many times of the day and night. As a new, re-entry student at college; he wrote, produced, directed, rapped, edited, and featured himself in a 1st place award-winning Public Service Announcement [PSA] Music Video for Santa Barbara City College.
More recently, Marq-E's song "Yesterday" was awarded a scholarship for the Profant Foundation of the Arts, at the world-renowned Santa Barbara Courthouse.
Last September, Marq-E was featured on the front page of the Santa Barbara News Press called "Rapper Credits School for Serenity." It was an inspiring article about a portion of his life story and about the people who have helped him to have hope and support to continue pursuing his goals, ambitions, and dreams.
For the "liberals" and "independent thinkers" out there, I am writing to you to applaud those of you who have an interest in bring HOPE back to the world and to offer you an opportunity to be inspired and to utilize a PERFECT SONG for the upcoming presidential election in November and re-claim true democracy. This song is called "36 Days" and it is about all the #$%&^* that went down in the last presidential election. This song is extremely inspiring to MASSIVE GENERATION of ELIGIBLE VOTERS who have historically had low voter turnout, that is the people aged 18 - 35. These groups of people and many others tend to LOVE HIP-HOP and POP MUSIC and this song WOULD DEFINITELY INSPIRE THEM TO GET OUT AND VOTE so we don't go through another election like last time.
Another awesome song for this campaign is "I Try To Understand" which is a hip-hop/ easy-to-understand rap song about overcoming INDIVIDUAL IGNORANCE in society.
Be sure to look out for the NEXT CD, due to be released within a year... in the meantime, you can download some of the new upcoming songs at www.Amazon.com, especially "Honey Bunz N' Robin Again" which is presently ranked #8 on the "West Coast Hip-Hop" charts, right behind a song featuring Eminem's group, D-12! Go to www.AtomicLawn.com for links to sites that carry other new upcoming songs.
You'll have to wait for the next CD for the hottest song yet called "Summertime in Cali"; it's probably going to be the title of the next album. It's funny and upbeat, we think you'll love it!
We would love to consider all reasonable offers for Performances [opening for Black Eyed Peas, Dr. Dre, etc.], Hip-Hop Shows [open-mic, variety shows, fairs, festivals], sponsorship [Lucky Jeans, Adidas, Hair, Cologne, Watches], Guest Appearances on talk shows, sports shows, comedy, or other entertainment [Jay Leno, Conan, Oprah, Saturday Night Live, MAD TV, etc.].
