Description
Marty Q is one the most expressive Saxophonists of the new millenium.
He reaches the innermost places in your heart & soul on Naima and the finest playing tribute to Brubeck's Take 5 available.
If you love John Coltrane you will love this version of Bessie's Blues. It's bringing this classic straight ahead jazz up to date with modern recording. The trio that plays on Take 5, Naima and Bessie's Blues has opened up for artists like Branford Marsalis
These Cats are HOT! The saxophone on these 3 tunes is on alto. Listen to the blend of old style lines with new style technique
like the upper register work on Bessie's Blues. The take was the very 1st one and it's Magic.
This CD originally started out as a tribute to a couple singers like Marty's favorite in Jazz The legendary Nat King Cole.
Also a tribute to "Sachmo" Louis Armstrong. The instrumental tracks were put in last to feature not only Marty's smooth vocals but his incredible sax work too.
As an artist Marty has sold tens of thousands of CD's in his area of Waterbury CT and famed for playing in The
Brass Mill Center at Christmas time. His CD Sentimental Christmas has actually sold the most out of his 3 CD's in print.
A lot of local airplay has pushed him to the top in his area in winning "Best Local Musician" 1998 The Greater Waterbury Observer.
As a vocalist you will hear passion on tracks like "What a wonderful world" and "You don't know me" as well as an original style
for the couple pop tunes like "Ain't no sunshine when she's gone" and a terrific vocal performance on "I wonder why".
After getting so many requests from fans to do a CD of some classic tunes the CD was almost named "Classics" but one producer
Mickey DiMichele came up with "Full Circle" because of the way these songs came full circle.
One of the coolest things on the CD is the 1st track only has an effect to start out old sounding (like a Victrola) then come in full and new sounding then going out old again ... That's Full Circle ........
