These winners of the prestigious Winterhawk Bluegrass New Band Competition have amazed audiences as eclectic as the McKrells themselves. Standing ovations as special guests of country superstars Lonestar. Standing Os at New Yorks famed Carnegie Hall as special guests of Irish folk giants The Furey Brothers, rave reviews as special guests of country superstar Travis Tritt, bluegrass icons Allison Krause, Sam Bush, Irish music legends Mary Black, Doloreas Keane, Solas.

In 2002 The McKrells will be returning to the famed Winterhawk Bluegrass and Beyond festival for the third straight year and have performed in such national touring venues as. The Towne Crier, Cafe Lena, Godfrey Daniels, The Iron Horse, The Parting Glass, The Night Eagle Cafe, Oxford,NY, Cafe Campus Montreal, Canada, The Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto Canada, The Van Dyke, Schenectady NY, Midleton Folk Club Midleton, Country Cork, Ireland, De Barras Folk Club, Clonakilty, County Cork, Ireland. Kilworth Arts Center ,Kilworth, County Cork Ireland, Johnnie Ds, Somerville MA, The Troy Music Hall, The Ontario Center for Performing Arts, Mothers Wine Emporium, and have performed at countless Folk, Bluegrass and Celtic music festivals.

The McKrells have also delighted audiences with their Holiday show, a blend of traditional and original Christmas tunes mixed with the humour and emotion audiences have come to love about a McKrells performance. On December 8th, 2001 The McKrells took their Holiday show to new heights selling out Albany New Yorks 982 seat Hart Theater also known as The Egg, then proceeded to sell out five shows at The Parting Glass, Saratoga Springs New Yorks famed national touring venue, as well as shows in Buffalo NY, Jamestown NY, and Wilkes Barre PA.
