Description
My Name is Rossmer formed in 2002 as a meeting of the minds and pens of Nathan Roberts and David Rossmer. They play a wide mix of styles ranging from reggae-bop to punk-gospel.
Here's just one example of the raves this CD has received:
"Originality and innovation are all to elusive in much of the music that comes along these days. Although they will staunchly deny it, most performers stay with boundaries of commercial convention.
Not so with MNiR. Their self-titled CD can be considered a true 'breakout' venture as it dares to push beyond all boundaries and scoff at the need for a safety net.
With lyrics that crawl craftily between the sardonic, the sarcastic, and the sentimental; and with lilting melodies and instrumentation that effectively employ cowbells to kazoos, mandolin to harpsichord; the CD examines and captures a range of emotions and experiences.
Theatrical, thoughtful, and totally enjoyable, MNiR invites the listener to join them on their musical midway and dares all to partake of its thrill rides.
If one tune emerges from the CD and finds itself straying from that midway to the mainstream, it would be 'Clowns Doing Cartwheels,' which showcases David Rossmer's impressive vocal range and the band taut talents."
