Description
Mark Mohrlang leads worship at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. Over the past several years, a vision was born to record many of the hymns that he (and others that lead with him) had reset, or rocked-up a bit. A handful of new songs that he and a couple friends had written combined in the mix to create "Letters from a Prisoner of Hope," a reference to Zechariah 9:12.
This album features Justin Gatewood M.D., on piano, longtime partner-in-funk with Mark and current Emergency Medicine resident in Chicago. Justin's style is heavily influenced by Bruce Hornsby, but with some beautiful melodic tendencies (aka Coldplay, Keane, etc.).
Also appearing are Alex Paul, Shelby Earl, Beth Olsen, Neal Vickers, Jeremy Bennett, Ross McMeekin, Noel Paul, Scot Mortimer, and Ryan Davis. Brian Pearce and Jesse Stuart engineered the album.
It's our hope that you enjoy these songs, and that they cause you to sing loudly in your car, and to worship our Lord, wherever you may be found.
