Description
You are witnessing a new era of southern rap. Straight out of Loop 12 ("The Loop") in the Grove of Dallas, Money represents for the South in a unique way never heard before. The blues and funk influence of this rapper is manifested throughout the beats and lyrics. He takes rap to the origin of soulful music with southern blues overtones. "There are so many wicked ways in this world that niggas have evolved to become immune to their surroundings--or at least that's the way they act." In the city, there are a million stories that have yet to be told. Now it's time for the tales to be known. Money Waters steps on the scene with the first debut album on Noir Sound Records entitled "The Porch". "The Porch" invites us to look through the peephole of the urban world by exposing the joy and pain of life from all angles. The Porch has a variety of production and hard hitting tracks that is undeniably the down south flavor. Money Waters worked with Kerav Shimon of Noir Sound to bring The Porch to life, along with a variety of other producers, including Gugu Funkadelic and Toni-O of the Rummsquad, and Riddles of the group Kabaal. Tracks like "Peter Paul", "Excuse These Blues" and the upcoming single "Payless Blues" illustrate a new brand of blues and rap. Several underground legends appear on "The Porch", including Kabaal, Limp Leg, and D-Style. Money Waters has mastered the art of lyrical storytelling, with tracks like "Ya'll Next", an action packed escape from the law, and "So I.." - a unique story illustrating a not so glamorous side of tricking at strip clubs. I'm tellin you, the shit's lovely.
