Listening to this musician, songwriter and vocalist, one would think that he is a "Guitarist", actually, he is a Bass player who plays 7, 8 and 9 string Bass'. In fact, there are no guitar players on this CD! He plays all of the parts that sound like a guitar, on his seven string Bass. He writes and arranges his own music, which is the style of soothing, smooth jazz that will take you on a journey into a relax state of mind. He also features a very talented line-up of vocalist and musicians. On track 2, 3 and 4 you have Tom Politzer on saxophone, who now plays with "Tower of Power" and on track 8 there's Charles McNeal on saxophone, who plays with "Boz Scaggs". On track 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, Kenny Boyd, who is also known as "The Keyboard Wizard", has shared the stage with so many recording artist we can't really keep count. He is also noted for playing with the popular R&B group "The Whispers". For tracks 2 and 4 on lead vocals, you have Keith Johnson who is recording his new CD. He also has recorded with the "Braxton Brothers" and has shared the stage with a lot of recording R&B and smooth jazz artist. Last but not least, you have the two female vocalist: Joy Williams and Tami Tambora. on track 2 Joy Williams is the voice singing the chorus "People Make the World Go Round" and she is a familiar face in the concert scenes. Tami Tambora is the lead vocalist on track 5, "Feeling Good" and also a busy artist performing with R&B Jazz and neo-soul artists. Together these vocalist and musicians add "Something Special" to this CD, making it something that you will never forget.
