Reason for Expectation is the latest release from alternative rockers Promize. Leslie Borden Pasco is the versatile lead vocalist and main composer for the band. She pens lavish lyrics with shadowy undertones. Mike Sherry and Jim Pitoniak share the responsibility of guitars and backing vocals, they contribute a dark edgy sound to this twelve-track collection. Bob Sweeney plays bass and the keyboards adding his dynamic accents. Dave Manning is the drummer and the driving force of the band. Promize is cohesive, their music is dramatic and diverse. Songs range from melodic to intense. Instrumentation and vocals are impressive. The CD opens with 'Mine' which features heavy guitars, a commanding beat and forceful vocals. It is followed by 'Unholy' showcasing fiery guitars, beguiling vocals and memorizing beats. 'Another Year' is a melodic tune about lost love.
