Description
"Apathy is Worse Than Hatred" is Chinese Happy's fourth record since forming in 1998. Hailing from the disappearing metropolis of Detroit, Michigan, their last LP "The Media Does the Stereotyping for You" (2001) compiled all of the band's early work onto one disc (some of the songs being re-recordings of songs from "Made a Cd You Bought it, Tell your Friends" and "the Kill Mao demo"). "Apathy is Worse than Hatred" is the first album of all new material to come from Chinese Happy in quite a while and dives head on into such issues as abortion ("Annie"), teen suicide ("Baby Named Dyin") selfless love ("Plush Iron Bonds"), Religious acceptance ("Organized Religion..."), Straight Edge Politics ("When People Offer Me a Cigarette"), and a budding romance between a waitress and a regular customer ("Coffeeshop"). Four bonus tracks round out this excellent release.
