Description
Code One is a collaboration between vocalist Cindy Lubar Bishop and composer Peter Girard. Fourteen Parts is their premiere CD. This eclectic mix of styles and moods is a study in contrasts. From serene to chaotic and serious to playful, Fourteen Parts derives its unified character from the balance and interplay of diverse elements.
Cindy Lubar Bishop is a veteran of the New York avant garde performance scene. Her early vocal work was featured in the operas of visionary director Robert Wilson as well as in her own performance pieces.
Peter Girard studied composition and electronic music at Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He has produced music for film, tv, theater, dance and the internet. His studio is a software based digital environment.
Two songs from Fourteen Parts - Cat Twigs Ladder and Enlarger - are in the score of a dance piece premiering in Voix, France in November 2003.
