Description
At the time the first cd - the one with the laundry marker drawing - was released, it was thought that the huge box of cassette tapes recorded by the original Curable Interns was destroyed. However, a few more tapes were found in a roach infested file box stored in the closet of an abandoned house once occupied by a former band member. The material on these tapes, combined with new material sent through the temporal siphon from the New Gomorrah Library archivists, comprise the remainder of the original Curable Interns catalog. "The Music of The Curable Interns Arranged for Solo Guitar" contains 14 live tracks recorded in 1986 at the Combined Effort, an art gallery in Baton Rouge, during a Cephalopod Nectar Festival. Included in the live set is "Waking Up on the Bottom of the Ocean," a twelve minute long cthulhic epic and one of the few experiments with electronic "effects." Although some cover versions of familiar psychedelic tunes were usually included in a live set, permission to use these melodies was denied by the big money/big music people! The remaining 9 tracks consist of some new material and better takes of a few tunes that were on the first cd. The first cd currently serves as a Curable Interns "sampler," but due to duplication of tracks on "...Solo Guitar" and "...Ring Hog Hill," it will no longer be manufactured when current stock runs out. Currently, the Curable Interns are the backup band for psychedelic folk singer Zenobia Marsh.
