Description
WHAT IT IS:
Adam in Space.
The Original Motion Picture Soundtrack... to a film that doesn't exist.
A series of musical postcards for a boy named Adam to read on his trip through outer space.
A cautionary tale for anyone considering spur-of-the-moment space travel.
WHY IT'S COOL:
An entire album written & recorded on a dare, in just two weeks.
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I KNOW?
With only one previous full-length release behind him (last year's DAN GREENE 1), Dan Greene already blasts off into side-project territory with ADAM IN SPACE. Twisting well-worn space clichs into stream-of-consciousness musings on unplanned space travel, Dan addresses each song directly at his friend Adam, who is purported to have stolen a rocket ship headed for the Moon. Brief monologues and tragicomic scenes involving "Adam" attempt to fill in the gaps in the fractured narrative.
By turns raw, ugly, funny, and borderline offensive, ADAM IN SPACE aims to break your brain with a happy mixture of glam rock, stoner rock, alt-country and electronica (and a near-fatal overdose on reverb).
So, the next time you're headed to the Moon, it would make perfect sense to bring along a copy of ADAM IN SPACE and heed its warnings: remember to plan ahead, pack an extra space suit, keep your mind occupied, and never, ever pull over for sultry space Sirens; it's bound to end badly.
ON A CHARITABLE NOTE:
For every copy of ADAM IN SPACE that is sold, 25 goes toward bringing Dan's friend Adam back from the Moon.
