Description
The Dry County Crooks formed in the spring of 2001. The Portland Oregon band was initially a side project, sort of a country alter ego, to Vinny D and Paul Beckers' punk band. Before long it was The Crooks that became the focus, and it was Howie Higgins and Cheo Larcombe that became the solution to the rotating rhythm section. In November of 2003, they released their full-length debut "The One That Got Away", followed by "Wrong Side Of The Tracks" in May of 2005.
The Dry County Crooks combine bare bones country with the muscle and might of rock & roll with influences ranging from Johnny Cash, Social Distortion, the Ramones and Willie Nelson; they have created a truly unique and timeless sound. One of the best shows around, these guys give it all they’ve got every time they hit the stage
“It’s a strange world when a country band rocks harder than much of what passes for rock these days” –Brian Blair, editor/publisher, Oregon Music Guide. www.omguide.com
“The best damn country CD you’ll hear this year!” –Queenie, Portland Online MusicNet. www.pomn.com
“Music to open a cheap beer with a greasy but sharp switchblade by, as you drive through the streets of Portland in your three on the tree, straight-six Impala” –Jack Sparks

To say that the Dry County Crooks are great is an
understatement. Their songs, in all their heartbroken,
whiskey-soaked, soul-baring glory, are as true as it
gets. Buy this record---and do it now.
