Description
There could not be a more appropriately titled album from Dallas, Texas` Cherry Blossom Clinic who continue to refine their own, dynamic and always insanely catchy brand of Weezer-cum-Cheap Trick power pop and "Hot Rock Action!" finds them with not only their best sounding record but the songs to match that achievement. Fans of The Lolas, Weezer, Nada Surf and the long, sadly departed Cooler this is one to key up on, for sure. As we have said before, CBC are more like the buzzy anthemic feel of early Cheap Trick combined with the new wavey buzz of Fountains of Wayne playing Weezer tunes turned up to `11` and they successfully mix the top-40 rock sound with classic riffs, and their vocals so perfectly work with the rocking pop here. All of the songs here have those instantly digestible melodies, short, concise guitar linse, deep, fuzzy bass, pounding backbeat and those multiple layers of guitar crunch yielding pure harmonic bliss: The Sound Of Cherry Blossom Clinic!
"Guitarist-vocalist Dave Crow writes all the band`s songs while heavily under the influence of `60s Brit-popsters such as The Who and the long- defunct Move, and more contemporary American acts such as Foo Fighters, Weezer and Cheap Trick." - The Oklahoman. Extremely Highly Recommended!
