DEAD LANE CROSS:-
Linden Beamish (20) - Vocals
Terry Bennington (19) - Bass Guitar
Barney Monger (24)- Drums
Ceri Monger (19) - Guitar
INFOBLURB:-
Formed Nov. 02, by longtime friends Ceri (guitar) and Terry (bass guitar) plus more recent mate Linden, soon joined by Ceri's brother, experienced drummer Barney, from authoritative power-thrash band Vessel.
Within 5 months, with the last-minute addition of guitarist James L. Brown, Dead Lane Cross was up and running: heavy hardcore metal with searing riffs and devastating vocals; heartfelt lyrics passionately delivered, mostly from Linden's extensive collection of personal and political writings; good crowds at gigs right from the start, wicked cheerful ferocious moshpits.....
1st album SIGNPOST, recorded at Springvale Studios, Ipswich, was released in Summer 03. John Peel played tracks from it on BBC Radio 1, it reached the last 12 of Scuzz-TV's Demo-lition - was blowtorched by Max Cavalera, but he liked the riffs!
In May 04, now back to the original 4-man line-up, DLC went into the studio at West Suffolk College to record their 2nd album, FALLING LIKE A BLEEDING SKY - the album was released in June 04. It too received airtime from John Peel.
DLC are currently gigging further & further afield, continuing to write new material,
flogging the albums & T-shirts, and meeting a lot of good bands. Also, to make available some of DLC's more recent tracks, a 5-track CD,- SON OF.. - was recorded in the latter half of last year and can be obtained free from the band at gigs.....
DISCOGRAPHY:-
SIGNPOST - rough & ready first album, reached the semi-finals of Scuzz-TV's Demo-Lition comp.
".....nine frenetic, angry tracks....and frontman Linden Beamish has a voice the Devil would make a pact with himself to own....." EADT
FALLING LIKE A BLEEDING SKY - 2nd album - the music's more developed on this one.
".....death, evil, punk.....the songs are tight and well written.....the drumming is tight & technical, reminiscent of Machine Head's Dave McClain.....the guitar flits between a really heavy, meaty chugging sound into a sometimes irritating grating noise, which made the inside of my face itch!.....a must for the pure Metal-Head....." Gigs Unlimited
SON OF... - 5-track EP we released last year - we wanted to record some of our more recent material, & put this disc out free as a thankyou to our v. supportive crowd.
"....LAST NIGHTS GIG WAS THE ****IN TITS YOU ARE ****IN BRILLIANT WOOOAH AMAZING!.." Gego, DLC Message Board
