Description
Untitled # 164 came out of a project commisioned by the ARGOS festival in 2004, Brussels Sonic Matter. Using field recording made in the city together with TRMX, Johan Vandermaelen, Martiens Go Home, and Building Transmissions; Lopez mutates and records these into an intense 73 minute composition that takes the sound of a city and transforms them into a interior landscape, a city within.
Francisco Lpez is internationally recognized as one of the major figures of the underground experimental music scene. Over the last twenty five years he has developed an astonishing sonic universe, absolutely personal and iconoclastic, based on a profound listening of the world. He has realized hundreds of concerts, projects with field recordings, and sound installations in 50 countries, he has an extended catalog of sound pieces, and he has been awarded twice with honorary mentions at the competition of Ars Electronica Festival.
