At Miami he studied jazz composition with Ron Miller, studio and jazz arranging with Gary Lindsey, jazz piano with Vince Maggio and Digital Audio with Ken Pohlmann.
As a composer and arranger he writes musical arrangements for the Hal Leonard Corporation and is active in the Denver scene. As a performer he has worked with Mr. Boodles Band, Ed Calle, DKO, Lannie Garrett, Hazel Miller, Jon Secada, Ira Sullivan and many more.
Dan's creative focus over the past two years has been the dan geisler group, whose brand new CD, Under the Sun is available now. Under the Sun is the first in a series of CDs featuring original compositions and acoustic jazz arrangements of sacred music.
EDUARDO "BIJOUX" BARBOSA--BASS was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. At the age of ten he began Music Theory studies with Prof. Nadir Dos Santos Neto. While in Brazil Bijoux played with Fusion oriented bands, contributing to a large number of original works. In 1991 he moved to Caracas, Venezuela where he spent the next 5 years studying Latin Music and Afro Cuban and Caribbean Rhytms. Continuing from his days in Brazil, Bijoux played for many Latin Fusion Jazz Bands and recorded with some well known national artists, including Herbie Mann, Russell Ferrante and Dave Grusin. Bijoux also had the great honor of studying string bass with the renowned Prof. Nestor Perez of "The Orquesta Sinfonica De Caracas.
In September of 1996 Bijoux moved to Denver, Colorado where he began working on numerous jazz and latin projects. Locally he has worked with Eric Gunnison, Nelson Rangell, Hazel Miller, Sheryl Renee, Lannie Garrett, Ron Miles, Suzanne Morales, DKO, and many more.
DAVE ROHLF--DRUMS embarked on his drumming path at age 3, when he pounded out rhythms on pots, pans, and boxes with homemade Tinker Toy mallets. The path eventually took him to the University of Northern Colorado, where he minored in percussion and filled the drum chair in UNC's top jazz groups.
Dave has performed with many of Denver's most recognizable musicians: Lannie Garrett, Billy Tolles, Joe Keel, Nelson Rangell, Hazel Miller, Bob Montgomery, Kenny Walker, and Freddy Rodriguez. Dave has also kept time for the Neophonic Big Band, the VSO Orchestra, the Denver Jazz Orchestra, and the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.
