Description
Kate was born and raised in Albany, NY. She started performing at community theaters and in school shows where her talent set her apart from the rest at a very young age. She studied voice and acting all through high school. Kate attended the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut where she received her B.F.A. in Musical Theater. During her summers in college, Kate performed in summer stock productions at the Theater Barn in New Lebanon, NY and also performed on the Spirit of Boston Cruise Ship. Kate was the lead production singer on Carnival Cruise Lines, the MS Fascination for a year and was also featured as a soloist and dancer at Six Flags, Great Adventure in New Jersey. She was also the original singer in the prominent Albany-based wedding band, City Rhythm. In addition, she had a supporting role in the independent film Earthen Vessels, where her singing was featured. Kate moved to Nashville in March of 2005 to pursue her dream of becoming a successful recording artist. She studies guitar and voice in Nashville and is also a songwriter.
Kate was recently the opening act for one of her idols, country legend Loretta Lynn. She was also a Tennessee State finalist in the Colgate Country Showdown and performed in Knoxville at the Tennessee Valley Fair. Kate has her own band and they have played several venues in Nashville including the world-famous Tootsies Orchid Lounge on Broadway. Her first single, Girls Night In, released to radio in February 2006 on HMG Nashville Country Volume #34 and debuted at #47 on the Power Source Magazine indie country charts. It is now at #36!
