Description
Emerging from the outskirts of Philadelphia, MorningSide works to bring their music to the masses. The songs are a reflection of their personalities exploring past experiences and future dreams. Though the sound is their own, it strikes a familiar chord with all who hear it.
MorningSide began in 2001 with childhood friends Sean MacGregor (Vocals/Guitar) and Joe Mauro (Bass/Vocals) working to form a band that would allow them to develop their musical and songwriting abilities. The band worked to develop their own sound by continually writing new music and playing venues in Philadelphia.
The summer of 2003 brought the departure of MorningSides drummer and lead guitar player. Through the help of some common friends, Ben Kless (Drums/Percussion), formally of Feedback, was added to the roster bringing his dynamic and energetic drumming to the band. After a few months auditioning lead guitarists, a musicians wanted ad brought Pete DiCanto, formally of Hindrance, to MorningSides front door. With their lineup complete, MorningSide began to cultivate and unite their talents developing a more unique and powerful sound.
Now after years of writing, recording and playing countless live shows in the areas most respected venues, MorningSide is preparing for their first full-length release, Road Less Traveled. Their songs, Long Day and Just Another Girl, have already received enthusiastic responses from Philadelphia rock stations, Y100 (now sadly defunct) and 93.3 WMMR. Just Another Girl appears on WMMRs Local Shots Vol. 1, a compilation CD showcasing the areas best talent. MorningSides latest single, Brigantine is set to hit the airwaves any day now...
