Mothband (Victoria Hume)
Instantly recognizable for the appealing intimacy of Victoria Humes voice and lyrics, each song creates a world of its own. Its hard to pin Moth down to one genre. A darkly hypnotic theme runs through a melee of rock, folk and sometimes Mile davis-ish

BIOG
Moths carefully crafted music is instantly recognizable for the appealing intimacy of Victoria Humes voice and lyrics. Its hard to pin it down to one genre but a hypnotic theme runs through a melee of rock, folk and occasionally blues/jazz influences, and the songs veer between starkly personal and polemic. Each one creates a world of its own.
Moth have been performing across London since forming in October 2004. Past gigs include The Clapham Grand, The Spitz, West One Four, The Troubadour, and the Ritzy Cinema Bar. They have just recorded their first EP, Electricity, and are currently working on a full album.
All songs are by Victoria Hume, who released her solo EP Small Miracles for Shabby Minds in 2004. Brought up in Dorset but living in London since 1998, Victoria has been writing songs for as long as she can remember. She is a successful jazz vocalist, and influences from Billie Holliday to Philip Glass are evident in her music. Her voice is frequently compared to Suzanne Vega and Joni Mitchell.
