NATURAL CITY
Natural City is an acoustic band made up of a young duo from Hong Kong. Formed together in May 2005, Jon and Kaz made up just another obscure band, casually writing songs and playing a few local shows, just for fun and for the love of music.
However, one day, the duo decided on a whim to enter the Tom Lee SoundBase Acoustic Band Festival 2005, one of the biggest independent music band shows in Asia, performing their single "Needing You".
Little did they know it would change their lives forever.
To everyone's surprise, including the band's own, Natural City captured the top two awards in the competition - Best Original Song, and ultimately, the Grand Prize trophy - launching them into the music spotlight in Hong Kong. Inspired by their new-found success, they headed into the studios to make their debut CD, "Suzanne".
Now clearly on their way to bigger and better things, the duo still stays grounded by focusing on one simple goal: keep playing at shows and making more songs, doing what they love.
