Description
Rick Rascati's affinity for music goes back to his pre-teens when he began taking piano lessons from his grandfather who was a classically trained musician that taught over twenty instruments. Being distracted by rock'n'roll and the usual kid stuff he never excelled at the piano as much as he should've at the time but absorbed enough for a solid foundation.
He then gravitated towards playing guitar and had his own
rock band for a number of years before getting tired of playing dives along with the usual band politics. After a brief hiatus he reevaluated his career and plot a new course for a different kind of music he heard and loved
as a kid, New Age.
Originally, being inpired by rock bands as diverse as
The Ramones to Emerson, Lake & Palmer, he was now being reinspired by keyboards and orchestration in this "other" under appreciated genre. Artists like Tangerine Dream, David Arkenstone, Ed Van Fleet, and Loreena McKennitt, not to mention countless others as well as TV & Movie soundtracks.
Now he was free to compose music that is devoid of commercial pigeonholing with the only limits being self-imposed. Rick Rascati has come full circle and can be
found traversing various musical boundaries to always
make it an interesting adventure for the listener!
