Rene's Here - "Walking Sideways"
Children's performer Renee Padgett's debut album, "Walking Sideways," blends earthy tones, world rhythms, easy-to-follow dance moves and rich, imaginative imagery into a groovy musical journey for the whole family!
Bouncing from the New Orleans-style cityscape shuffle of the title track, "Walking Sideways," to the zoological train-car tour of "Choo Choo;" from the salsa fiesta of "Hop the Line" to the elephantine reggae adventure of "The Grey Ones," the entire album will be a sure-fire favorite of kids of all ages (even "grown-up" ages!)
Drawing on over a decade of experience in early childhood education (as well as a lifetime as a performing musician), Rene has crafted songs that not only entertain, they help with large motor development - each song has a corresponding set of motions and dance moves that children can learn quickly and easily (instructions are contained within the liner notes and, for certain songs, on the CD itself). Jumping up, hopping around, flying like a pterodactyl and crawling like a spider; these are but a few of the energizing, kinetic activities prompted by "Walking Sideways."
Rene also incorporates her songs and dances into an exuberant live show - in the classroom or on-stage, she performs both solo and with the "Rene's Here" band, a 7-piece ensemble featuring horns and a rhythm section.
Rene's music offers an unparalleled blend of infectious groove, coordinated dance, musical sophistication and fun, witty lyrics - her album is a joy for children and adults alike, and her live show is an off-the-wall party!
Okay everybody, you heard what Rene said - "Jump up!"
