Description
Seth Kaufman developed his solo piano sound in Ithaca and New Orleans. Drawing upon influences in jazz, rock, and minimalism, Kaufman's style has been said to "push the piano's limits" (Times Picayune, New Orleans).
Kaufman's works are often inspired by silent film, art, and experimental theater productions. His recent "Plum-colored Fields" on Red Descending (1999) was inspired by the Rothko Chapel in Houston.
Seth Kaufman performs regularly in Boston, New Orleans, NYC and San Francisco. A new CD is planned for 2006.
