Description
Sonus is the collaborative efforts of Michael Rhodes and Harrison Rogers. Both Artists grew up only 60 miles from one another in North Alabama. Whereas Michael was steeped in the traditions of music in parochial school, Harrison was baptized in the guitar rock of Van Halen and AC/DC as well as R.E.M. and U2 at an early age.
The collaboration began during their collegiate years, first as an engineer / producer (Harrison) & artist (Michael) relationship that lasted several years. Throughout the years, Rhodes and Rogers have kept in touch and a little over two years ago both musicians returned to Nashville and began working on songs that would become Turn Down The Stereotype.
A labor of love, Stereotype reaches across genres and styles in its insistence that art and music can defy categorization and labeling, and ultimately, be judged on its own merit.
All writing, composition, recording, and production was accomplished by Michael and Harrison. Now, with the product in hand Sonus has become a full band with the additions of Liam Sullivan on drums (from N.Y.) & JDub on bass (from Atlanta). As the live performances take the recordings to new places the collaborative efforts are also producing new material that only solidifies SONUS ability to venture into musically diversity while creating a unique, interesting & progressive sound.
